FAQ’s

What platform do you use to build websites?

We love WordPress and use it exclusively on all our websites. 35% of the web uses WordPress, from hobby blogs to the biggest news sites online.

Can't I just use Wix, SquareSpace, or another inexpensive site builder?

Sure thing. There’s nothing wrong with building your own website on a platform like Wix or SquareSpace. If cost is an issue and your site is fairly simple, go for it.

Just keep in mind that you will be limited in terms of customizations, which is why all of the sites we build are self-hosted WordPress websites because this provides tons of flexibility to do whatever you want to do.

How much does a website cost?

The short answer is, it depends. You have likely searched online and found prices ranging from $400 to $10,000 or more.

Most of the sites we develop for clients are less than $5,000 … most often between $800-3,000. The majority of sites we develop are well within the range of what most small businesses can afford.

Are there any additional costs?

If you are getting a brand new website, you will need a domain name and hosting? You may also require premium plugins based on your required functionality. There may also be costs associated with additional services such as if you need us to create content for you.

We also have maintenance plans available once your site is live. These plans include keeping your site software, plugins, themes, etc. up-to-date; backups, SPAM management, security scans, etc.

What are your payment terms?

Once we receive your quote request, we will send you a proposal. If you choose to move forward, you will receive an invoice for a 50% deposit. The non-refundable deposit is due before work begins and the final 50% is due when the work is complete.

How long before my new website is complete?

The timeline for developing a new website depends on a number of factors, including other projects in the queue, response time from the customer, and content. Generally speaking, we can complete a project in 4-6 weeks assuming we get all the requested information and content needed for the project.

How do we communicate during the project process?

For most projects, we will communicate via email unless we feel a conversation would be beneficial via phone or Zoom.

We will keep you informed with large milestones & updates via email, including up-to-date information on timelines, everything that needs to be done, what has been accomplished & what we still may need from you.

What is the difference between website hosting and domain registration?

Website hosting is basically renting space for all of your content and website files. We use and recommend SiteGround, BlueHost, and Hostgator.

Domain registration is required for a URL. We generally use and recommend GoDaddy.com for domain registration.

What if I don't have quality images for my new website?

The short answer is ‘get some’.

A website without pictures, images, etc is not going to attract or keep a visitor for long.

  • You can buy affordable, high-quality, royalty-free images from sites like Unsplash, IStock, or ShutterStock.
  • You can take your own photos.
  • You can hire a photographer.
